As the first holiday break approaches, it's a great time for 10th graders to reflect on their first semester's progress and plan for the year ahead.

In particular, many sophomores have taken or will take the Preliminary SAT, or PSAT, which helps asses students' readiness for the SAT. It's crucial to assess these scores to prepare for the path ahead.

Understanding the PSAT

A student's performance on the PSAT will reflect their understanding of the material and their level of comfort with the test format. Their results can help students identify their current strengths and weaknesses, allowing them to create a targeted study plan for score improvement.

As students prepare for their chosen college entrance exam during their junior and senior year, we recommend creating a study schedule and scheduling regular meetings with a test prep tutor. Consistent effort over time will build mastery and confidence. Additionally, students will become increasingly familiar with the test format, allowing them to better assess questions on the day of their exam.

If students are considering applying to Ivy League schools, they should aim to score at least 1550 on their SAT or 35 on their ACT. To help your student secure their desired score, please reach out to AtomicMind to be connected with an experienced tutor, ready to help your student create and stick to a study schedule.
